5 Ways to Improve Vehicle Performance

Most vehicles come with standard equipment that allows the vehicle to perform at good levels and with sensible fuel consumption. Nevertheless, one may want to increase vehicle performance affordably, while at the same time saving on daily fuel consumption. There are vehicle maintenance techniques that may be used to increase vehicle performance to optimal levels. Below are some basic tips that cost very little yet reap huge gains.

Maintenance

1.Air filter

One way to improve vehicle performance is to make sure the air filter on the intake system is clean. Accumulated dust and debris inhibit the amount of air brought in. To increase efficiency even further one may exchange the standard filter for a cone air filter or a sport filter. These types of filters increase clean air intake by virtue of the increased surface area of their conical shape. The cone air filters may also be placed in the bay zone of the engine where the air is fresher.

2.Spark Plugs

Spark plugs have to endure intense heat during combustion in the engines and these causes wear. Having spark plugs that are consistently strong increases the power and efficiency. To ensure optimal performance, one may change the spark plugs after every 10,000 miles. Even better, one may exchange the regular spark plugs for high performance spark plugs which are designed to endure much higher temperatures.

3.Motor oil

As one uses the vehicle, the motor oil gets thicker as its molecules break down. This causes engine resistance disrupting the optimal movement of gears, cams, and pistons. Regular motor oil change is advised to avoid this. To further enhance efficiency, one should substitute the conventional engine oil for energy conserving, synthetic motor oils which take much longer to disintegrate.

4.Fuel

The type of fuel one uses in their vehicle engines also determines the performance of the car. Adding extreme fuel treatments (XFT) to your regular fuel has been proven to enhance engine performance, prolong engine life, and increase horsepower. Additionally, they reduce harmful engine emissions by more than 30% thereby leading to a cleaner, greener environment. The obvious bonus is that you get to spend less on fuel by getting better gas mileage.

5.Weight

Reducing the weight of cargo and the weight of the car itself can greatly reduce the amount of work the engine has to do. If the car has a roof rack that is rarely used, it may be better to take it down and only fix it on those days when it is needed. Cleaning out your car of extra baggage lightens the engine load and gives the car better gas mileage.
